FLORDIA!

In October of 2013 I got to go to the beautiful land of
Orlando, Flordia!

I stayed at the Marriott`s Orlando World Center Resort.

The hotel was very impressive. I was texting Will pictures as soon as I got there so that he could see my surroundings.

My first time seeing palm trees.

I spent one day at Discovery Cove.
I was surrounded by white sand...

palm trees...

and DOPLHINS!

I spent another day at Sea World.
I went on a crazy roller coaster - The Mantra.

I also enjoyed multiple aquatic shows (several times each).

I can`t wait to go back with my boys in a few years time!

Philadelphia

December 2014 started with a quick trip to Philadelphia. I flew in one evening, was in business meetings the entire next day, and flew home early the following morning.

I did get to see Philadelphia at night and loved shopping at the "Christmas Village" (an outdoor authentic German Christmas Market). I was able to buy a few sweet, little gifts for Will and the boys.

A quick trip, but still enjoyable!

San Francisco

In February of 2014 I went to San Francisco, California

I did a bus tour of the city and I was excited to see
some well-known landmarks:

The Golden Gate Bridge.
I just want to say that I am from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. I grew up in fog. But the fog surrounding the Golden Gate Bridge is like no fog I have ever seen before!

Post Card Row.
I was a huge Full House fan. Post Card Row can be seen in the video for the Full House theme song "Every Where You Look".

Alcatraz, from a distance.

One of my California purchases. You should know that California in February is NOT warm. I had to purchase a hat and gloves because I was FREEZING! I told the sales clerk that I was surprised that it was so cold, with it being California, and he said "Well, it IS winter!".

Paris on the Prairie

In January, 2013 I started working with True North Clinical Research as a Study Coordinator. One of the perks of my job is that I get to travel all over North America for meetings with different pharmaceutical companies that we work with.
Over the last year and a half I have gone on many journeys.
My favorite place to visit, so far, is
Chicago

One of the most beautiful views of Chicago is from Lake Michigan.

In July of 2013 I was thrilled to have one of my best friends, Paula, come along for the adventure.

Chicago is home to one of the largest fountains in the world -
Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain.

Cloud Gate (aka The Bean) is a fantastic sculpture in
Millennium Park. The mirrored surface is designed to offer
a reflection of the city skyline.

Guess who got to come with me to Chicago in May of 2014?
Yup! The love of my life and very best friend, William.

Chicago is an amazing, breathtaking, beautiful city.
It isn't hard to see why it has been my favorite travel destination.

Blessings

It has been soooo long since I have last blogged!

What's new in the Jagger world you ask? Well, I now have no appendix and I am 5 months pregnant with baby #4! It has been an eventful few months, that's for sure.

Now that things are settling down I wanted to return to the world of blogging by sharing a quote that I found that I love so much...

"My greatest blessings in this life call me Mom!"

Nolan's Birdfeeder

This morning Nolan made a birdfeeder...

Here's how:
  • Find a pinecone. In the winter they are wet and kind of sad looking but once they dry out in the house, they open up and look normal again.
  • Buy some birdseed. We bought a big bag at the dollarstore.
  • Tie a string to the top of the pinecone. We used yarn. Make sure it is long enough to tie to a tree branch.
  • Coat the pinecone with peanut butter. I found it didnt have to be very thick.
  • Sprinkle birdseed onto peanutbutter. We did this but then rolled the pinecone in a small pile of birdseed to get any places we missed. You may have to push the birdseed into the peanut butter to make sure it sticks well.
  • Hang outside for the birds!

Recipe Marathon

We were invited out to a friends for supper last week. I happened to notice this nice, organized recipe binder on my friends counter. All her recipes were printed up on nice paper and the binder was organized into sections based on what the recipes made. I decided that evening that I was going to make one of those myself...

Though I have great intentions I quickly realized what a big task this would be. Besides my dozen or so recipe books, I have a recipe box. In this recipe box are recipes that I have been handwriting on recipe cards since I was... oh... twelve maybe!

The box contains a recipe, or two, for just about any dish/drink/dessert under the sun. The problem is that I have maybe actually made FIVE of these recipes over the last two decades... and typing them up would be a VERY BIG job when I don't even know if they are any good!

As a solution to this problem, this week I have started my Recipe Marathon! My rule is that in order for a recipe to make it into my typed, fancy recipe binder I need to cook it first for my family and we actually have to LIKE it!

This week I have made Mashed Potato and Ham Casserole and Chunky Beef and Pork Chili. The first made the cut, the later not so much. It may be a long road to the finished product but we will get to try lots of new dishes along the way!
